Title: Pilotdrift Water
Sphere
Rarely do you find an
album where every
song is
different from
the next.
Pilotdrift’s eclectic mix of sounds on their album, Watersphere,
pushes the boundaries of
music. This
band is not afraid to use their instruments, vocals, and unconventional
noises to create original music.
Although the music is different from most of what’s out there, Water
Sphere owes some debt to 60’s psychedelic rock. The trippy style can be
heard on the aptly named “Bubblecraft,” or on the creepy “Caught In My
Trap,” which reminds me of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Other tracks like “Jekyll and Hyde Suite” are influenced by
classical
music.
However, Pilotdrift is a progressive band, and this is shown on tracks like,
“Passenger Seat.”
Water Sphere, is not an album for everyone. The music is so unlike
anything you might have heard, that it may take some getting used to. But,
be assured, this may be the music of the future.
