Title: Download This: Pilot Drift

Remember the rush you got the first time you heard Pink Floyd, The Who, or Queen? Well, get ready -- because Pilotdrift, an unassuming band from Texas, of all places, give those musical titans a run for their money. With Freddie Mercury-like vocals over orchestral prog melodies, you'll swear they were born in the wrong decade. "Water Sphere" is one of the most musically sublime albums of the year, layered with synthesizers, Kelly Carr's stunning voice, and a song about a cannibal  (always a plus!). Listen to ''Caught in My Trap,'' about said flesh-eater, and ''Elephant Island,'' a depressing ode to those who stayed behind during Shackleton's Expedition in Antarctica. Vicious, yet stunning.
