12/11/05 - Pilotdrift confirmed to support supergrass North American tour.

Texarkana, TX, quintet Pilotdrift has been selected to open all dates on Supergrass’ February 2006 North American tour. The 15-date tour, Pilotdrift’s first in support of their debut album, Water Sphere (Good Records Recordings), kicks off February 6 in Toronto and continues through major markets including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle, wrapping February 26 in Vancouver.

Pilotdrift’s unique, adventurous debut, Water Sphere, has received high praise in the press, earning comparisons to artists ranging from Radiohead to Andrew Lloyd Webber for their dramatic compositions. “The five members of this Texarkana band have come up with something entirely unusual and delicately beautiful,” wrote the Associated Press in a review. Entertainment Weekly’s PopWatch blog said, "Remember the rush you got the first time you heard Pink Floyd, The Who, or Queen? Well, get ready -- because Pilotdrift, an unassuming band from Texas, of all places, give those musical titans a run for their money.” And the Washington Post raved, "Water Sphere warbles and wiggles through a pop music dreamscape that is positively otherworldly.... A salve for ears rubbed raw by current pop's redundancy."

Pilotdrift is happy to announce that they will be supporting Warner Bros. recording artist EISLEY on their upcoming nationwide tour June 6 - July 7. We are extremely excited about this. Eisley has always been very supportive of us and we just think this band is artistically brilliant beyond measure. The band Lovedrug will also be going on this tour, please go check them out. There are some confirmed and speculated tour dates currently posted on the Eisley message board.
