6/19/05 - so there's this lame town
called modesto. in california. and there's a street festival where there's
old-guy blues bands, little kid rock bands, and quite a few out-of-town bands
who had big hits in about 1994 and sir mixalot. we played this festival about 3
years ago. it was so fun, whoo.
i guess someone had their head screwed on straight this year and they gave mike
cloward, a modesto guy who runs the devil in the woods label and also diw
magazine, a stage to fill with bands he likes. we talked to him and thought it
might be fun to play a little bit, but as "grandaddy time machine featuring
members of grandaddy." it's our old 3-peice configuration with me, kevin and
jason, and we're going to try to just play stuff we used to play back in the
good ol' days. 'member? like 'member back in '94?
other bands, friends and family joining us will be built like alaska, jackpot,
earlimart, the teeth, jim yoshii pile-up, and rum diary. joel and jp will also
be walking around helping people play songs.
if you come bring your truck. i gotta move some shit.
but don't bring no bottles.
you can bring your gun, but leave the ammo at home.
and if you smoke lying in a prone position, it's a night in the box.
your friend,
