5/19/07 - Editing
Final editing happening now and score in the works this month.
8/12/06 - Hi
Everybody!
Boy do I appreciate your
patience and anticipation concerning Flute Rock. I know it seems like
not much has happened lately, but there has been a lot going on! Right
now, I'm really starting to dig into the soundtrack. And let me be the
first to tell you how excited I am with what's happened so far!
A couple of weeks ago, my
friend Kirk Douglas (who plays guitar for the most fantastic band 'The
Roots') came by our humble studio here in Dallas and played some amazing
guitar for my soundtrack. His playing is amazing, and if you've never
checked him or The Roots, by all means DO IT!! I've been a huge fan of
their band for many years, and it was an incredible honor. Kirk and his
bandmates are inspiring beyond belief. And they are all really really
nice!
The track itself may be
surprising to you when you finally hear it. I've used the flute in a
kind of unusual way – instead of melodic flute playing, I've used the
flute as a percussion instrument (think drum machine). Next week, we're
going to start mixing it down, and I'm sure the song will reveal itself
in a cool way! I can't wait!!
Also, you can check out
the Official Flute Rock Bio! If you've been wondering how puppets and
the flute go together, I hope this can answer some of your questions.
Much thanks goes out to my good friend Missy in New York. She's the best
copy editor around, and has been incredibly helpful in the editing
process. We had a lot of fun doing it, even though it took us about 9
months to complete it. Sometimes it just takes a little longer then we
want, but ultimately it will be worth it as we are making zero
compromise!
Again, my most sincere
thanks!! You guys have been very supportive, and I cannot wait to get
this thing out there!! You will all be invited to the Flute Rock release
party when it's all ready to go!!

1/4/06 - Flute Rock is well on
its way. The filming is done and it is now in the editing process. The
website,
www.fluterock.com, is almost finished, so look out for that alert –
there you can find out about more of how Flute Rock came together, who
is involved, see some images and get a taste of the work Audrey has been
doing in the studio for the soundtrack.
In
other exciting news, Audrey has been rubbing elbows (literally) with Ian
Anderson, the flutist from the band Jethro Tull. She went to New York
to meet him for an exclusive interview for a very special feature in
Flute Rock. She was a little nervous when she met the iconic flutist,
and when she went to shake his hand, he left her hanging. Saying that he
was suffering from a wrist injury, he was unable to shake hands, but he
could rub elbows with her. He turned out to be very kind and had a lot
to say about the flute.
7/12/05 - Audrey is currently in NYC (in a
basement in Brooklyn actually)
shooting scenes for flute rock. Stay tuned for some behind the scenes
photos, info, etc...
